Dyed polyester/PVC/Acrylic/Quilted Fabric
To manufacture our top covers, we use three types of fabric.
This is a synthetic, mesh-structured material. The PU coating ensures the fabric is waterproof. It weighs 270 g/m². This fabric is made in Asia, and the yarn is solution-dyed.
Pros :
Lightweight, easy to fold, and affordable. Idea for people who use the cover while towing and who usually store their boat in a garage or shed.
Cons :
Limited lifespan ; this type of cover should not be left outdoors under snow or frost in winter. In the sun, it tends to fade and lose color. Over time, the treated fabric becomes less and less waterproof.

PU coating (polyurethane)

This fabric no longer shows the typical « reinforcement grid » of ripstop, yet its resistance to tearing, abrasion, and fading is slighty superior to ripstop. The yarn is solution-dyed.
A « tarp-style » fabric, made from 550 dtex/1100 dtex polyester base with PVC coating on the outer side, ensuring perfect waterproofing and making it very easy to clean with a sponge. It weighs 520 g/m². This fabric is made in Europe.
Pros :
Very durable over time, much more suitable for boats that stay outdoors year-round. Highly appreciated for its easy cleaning and long lifespan.
Cons :
More expensive than ripstop, heavier and bulkier : less convenient to fold and store.
A fabric composed of 50% cotton and 50% polyester, solution-dyed, waterproof and rotproof, weighing 430 g/m². This canvas provides excellent comfort under the cover and greatly reduces the risk of interior condensation because it is breathable. It always stays nicely taut, with good tear and abrasion resistance.
For seaside use, it should be rinsed regularly to maintain UV resistance. This fabric is made in France.
Pros :
Appreciated for its breathability (less condensation under the cover), durability, aesthetics, and ease of use. The ideal fabric for wooden-deck boats.

We also have a fourth fabric for underside covers, in addition to the three types listed above :
It is made of two layers of 220-denier nylon with a 250 g/m² hydrophobic polyester wadding inserted between them, quilted in a diamond pattern.
Pros :
Actively protects the hull from shocks during transport and handling.
Cons :
Too thick to Allos proper ventilation ; it must be removed after transport. Its colorfastness under UV exposure is quite poor.
